Exceptions

The following types of residential construction shall be considered as maintenance and shall not require a building permit.
  1. The painting of any structure, regardless of area.
  2. The application of metal or vinyl siding to an existing structure.
  3. The re-roofing of an existing residential structure. (Note: The repair or replacement of roof framing or sheathing shall require a permit.)
  4. Minor electrical repairs, which do not entail the alteration, relocation, of addition of electrical wiring or fixtures.
