Resolution 2013-202, passed by the Ashtabula County Board of Commissioners in July 2013, requires registration of all providers of transient lodging in Ashtabula County prior to the collection of the county's 5 percent bed (lodging) tax. Resolution 2013-202
Are you planning to open a new lodging business in Ashtabula County? You will need to apply for a certificate of registration from the county. There is no fee to register. Do you need to register for a certificate? There are two way to register print this Establishment Registration or you can Register Online.
If you close the business or convert it to long-term (more than 30 days to one guest) lodging, you will need to surrender the certificate.
Registrations are reviewed annually and compliance is spot checked throughout the year. Non-compliance can result in penalties, fines, an audit and prosecution through the Ashtabula County Prosecuting Attorney's office.
